Chamar Studio

Bio

After the 2015 beef ban left many Dalit and Muslim leather artisans jobless, artist-activist Sudheer Rajbhar founded Chamar Studio to rebuild their livelihoods. In 2017, he introduced a recycled rubber material that feels like leather, reviving lost crafts through sustainability. Chamar preserves banned crafts, empowers a marginalized community, and transforms social stigma into pride through exceptional design.

Welcome to Varnika’s Voices

At Varnika Voices, we use fashion to amplify the voices of South Asian brands supporting marginalized communities, especially Dalit women.

Founded by 15-year-old Aashna Shah, this nonprofit combines passion and purpose, raising awareness, celebrating artisans, and showing that you’re never too young to make a difference.
